Tell the Committee to vote YES to curb child hunger in South Carolina!

Take Action

Tell the House Ways & Means Committee to Support H.5022 & provide free school meals to help end child hunger!

According to Feeding America, over 150,000 children go hungry in South Carolina each day. H.5022 aims to reduce this number by providing free breakfast and lunch to all public school children.

Research has shown that providing students with free school meals has many benefits:

  • it improves student attendance and achievement;
  • it creates healthy eating habits;
  • it provides children with access to nutritious meals, which can help reduce the chance of chronic illness later in life;
  • healthier students mean less money spent on healthcare costs.

Email the House Ways and Means Committee and ask them to support this bill!
